Karan Johar to make a fun film now

After making some serious subject films, Karan Johar wants to return to the fun and frolic that his cinema is well known for. Now, the filmmaker is penning down a script that will be a far cry from serious subjects.

At the moment Karan is scripting his next film which according to him will be a light-hearted script. And, as is a well known rule of his films, Shahrukh will play the lead in that film too.

Though nothing much is known about the other star cast of the film, KJO is trying hard to get the script in place as soon as possible. The filmmaker, who has taken time off to focus on the script is gung ho about this project.

Well, after some serious films like KURBAAN and MY NAME IS KHAN, its time Karan Johar comes up with a subject, which is light hearted and fun filled. Hope it happens sooner than expected.

Tarun: DOSTANA 2 script is being fine tuned!

There is no doubt that Karan Johar's Tarun Mansukhani directed DOSTANA has gone a long way in highlighting a new facet in both Abhishek and John Abraham's acting career. And ever since a sequel to the highly successful film has been announced there is a perceptible excitement amongst the movie buffs.

It was recently heard that Abhishek had given bulk dates for DOSTANA 2 as it was all set to commence in July and as a fallout Abbas-Mustan's THE ITALIAN JOB remake (which also features Abhishek) had been stalled.

To ascertain the facts we spoke to Tarun Mansukhani. After a short pause Tarun said, "Well... I can only say that it is someone's speculation and imagination. Right now we are working/finalizing the script of DOSTANA 2 and so the question of the film commencing early or affecting the schedule of another project (featuring Abhishek) does not arise.

Well, script is the king and we don't mind waiting for another dhamaal act from Tarun in the shape of DOSTANA 2.

American version of My Name Is Khan to be shorter by 35 minutes

If the name Alan Edward Bell doesn't ring a 'bell' in your mind, then, let us tell you that, he is the same man who is responsible for the crisp editing of 500 Days Of Summer. And it is going to be this man who will very soon be the talk of the nation (or is that 'globe'?), as he is the man responsible for 'taming the hurricane'. For the uninitiated, we are talking about the climax of Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan wherein the characters get stranded due to a hurricane. Post the release of the film in India; while the story and screenplay were appreciated to the hilt, this was one particular scene that was panned by critics alike. But, for its US release, KJo has let Bell's hands to do the talking (read 'snipping').

Karan Johan candidly admits that he was expecting this scene not to work in the same wavelength as the film's story. He also added that, it was for this reason, that he let Bell to do his job (without any interference from him) since he wanted an outsider's perspective to the story. This has now resulted in the chopping of the hurricane scene in the US version of My Name Is Khan. Bell's work will be visible in the film, which releases on May 7th in the US, and will have its subtitles and voiceovers in English for the audiences there.

KJo asks followers on Twitter to come up with title for Stepmom remake

Karan Johar's official remake of the Julia Roberts- Susan Sarandon starrer Stepmom is yet to find a title and like always the ever-popular filmmaker has come up with an innovative way to zero in on a suitable title for this film. Karan, who is extremely active on social networking site Twitter, has asked his many followers to give him suitable options for this Siddharth Malhotra directed film that stars Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in lead roles.

A few days ago, Karan had tweeted, "Hey all...any title suggestions for our official Stepmom adaptation film. Hindi titles preferably. Will be grateful forever if any of u can help." Needless to say there were quite a few creative minds who started tweeting various title options and four such titles seem to have caught the fancy of KJo and his team. "Hey...our shortlist for Stepmom title options...which one do you like... Love You Maa...We Are Family...Hamesha and Forever...and Ghar?"

Even Arjun Rampal who stars in the film seems to be asking for title options from his fans on Twitter and has even promised to take the one who comes up with the perfect title for dinner and a private screening. In Rampal's own words, "Think of other titles for Stepmom, forget the ones sent, the winner I will take for dinner and the private screening. Lol."

One will have to wait and watch if the makers go ahead with one of these four titles or still wait for more interesting titles from their followers on Twitter.
