Shah Rukh Khan has given Tarun Mansukhani a new task, after the director directed a few scenes for his home production Ra.One. Now that Dostana 2 is on hold, the D2 director will pen a fresh script for SRK and Priyanka Chopra. Since the suggestion came from Khan, Mansukhani was more than happy to jump at it.

A source reveals, "For now, there's a complete stalemate over the Dostana sequel. Tarun has finished writing the sequel but producer Karan Johar is not happy with the second half. After many rewrites, Mansukhani has now given up. Anyway he is committed to do a film with Karan's production house, the PC-SRK film might just be the thing. Dostana released in 2008, and the director has been raring to start his second film, and has kept himself busy directing commercials."

SRK opined that since Dostana 2 was on hold, Tarun should come up with something featuring PC and him. The source adds, "SRK has already had a chat with Karan and has expressed his desire for the Dostana director to come up with a subject for the pair."

While details on the project are not known, the source confirms that Tarun is quite excited with the prospect of writing a plot for them. "He has already shown interest and will begin work on a script."

No film with Shahrukh Khan on Haj: Karan Johar

Producer-director Karan Johar is surprised by reports about films that his banner Dharma Productions is making.

It's been reported that Karan has bought the rights of a National Award winning Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu. Buzz was that Karan will direct the film with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and the film will be shot in Haj.

However, Karan, who is in London with his mother, flatly denied the reports. He said, "I am not planning the remake of the acclaimed Malayalam film." Further revealing the reason behind his London trip, Karan said, "I am in London to acquire the rights of a superb French film. If all goes well the French film will translate beautifully into an Indian love story. I can't wait to get it going."

The filmmaker is scheduled to attend IFFA soon and announce the release date of Agneepath. Karan is also gearing up to go behind the camera once again after two years with his home production Student Of The Year.

KJo, Advani kiss and make up

Filmmaker Karan Johar seems to be in a good mood these days. First, he made up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and now talks have it that the KJo has made up with Nikhil Advani, his protege whom he had fallen out with.

If sources are to be believed, Karan and Nikhil are taking each others help for their respective movies. Advani is all set to begin his 3D animation movie 'Delhi Safari', and a little assistance for Karan is proving to be useful.

As long as Karan is in the make-up mood, one wonders if he's going to step forward and hug long-time foe Ram Gopal Varma, too! Well, crazy things happen is this big mad world...

KJo to launch 'X-Factor' winner

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who buried the hatchet with Sanjay Leela Bhansali when he recently visited the sets of " X-Factor", has decided to give the winner of the music reality show a chance to sing for one of his forthcoming films.

The filmmaker, known for movies like "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" and "My Name Is Khan", has tied up with Sony Entertainment Television to give a worthy platform to the winner.

The host of the show, Aditya Narain, broke the news to the top 12 shortlisted contestants on behalf of Karan - much to their excitement.

Karan praised "X-Factor", saying it is by far the best talent show and all three judges - Sonu Niigam, Shreya Ghoshal and Bhansali - are doing well. He was also heard saying that Bhansali is one of the "finest directors" of Bollywood, according to a source.

In fact, Johar and Bhansali even hugged each other - suggesting that they have moved on after their war of words.

Bhansali had taken a tad too seriously Johar's comment on "Saawariya" being a "blue film" and had lashed out against him in the media.

Johar reacted by saying in an interview: "Anyone who chooses the media as a form of communication is clearly not a friend. I think he needs to learn to take himself a lot more lightly than he does. It will be a good thing for him."

But now, all seems to be well between the two - at least by what seemed on the sets of the reality show.
